Specialist Occupational Therapist
AHP Careers Fellowship 2024-25

Hello :)
As an Occupational Therapist (OT), I help people of all ages overcome challenges in completing everyday tasks or activities – what we call ‘occupations’. These occupations are essential to living; they give our lives meaning, purpose, and structure. This could mean assisting individuals in overcoming challenges at school, work, sports, or even simple tasks like doing the dishes. OTs are skilled in working with complexity and supporting people with multiple co-occurring conditions or needs that affect their daily lives.
My Clinical Practice & Therapeutic Approach
Since 2017, I’ve worked across diverse children’s and adult services within the NHS and as an independent occupational therapist. My passion lies in supporting neurodivergent adults while empowering colleagues through evidence-based, neuroaffirming practices.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Glasgow Caledonian University, along with postgraduate qualifications in Sensory Integration (Sheffield Hallam University) and Advancing Practice in Occupational Therapy (Queen Margaret University). Most recently, I’ve been honored to be part of the AHP Fellowship 2024-25 with NHS Education for Scotland.

Continually striving to refine my clinical reasoning and therapeutic approach, I’ve completed additional training in Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC), Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (COOP), Care Aims Clinical Reasoning, Behavioural Activation, and Suicide Prevention (ASSIST), among other frameworks. These skill sets allow me to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care while fostering self-management and problem-solving skills with the individuals I support.

Through a strengths-based approach, I collaborate with individuals to help them understand their unique needs, considering physical, mental health, learning, and sensory factors that impact daily life. I also work with employers and communities to implement meaningful, reasonable adjustments—ensuring inclusive environments that enable participation, growth, and well-being.
